Legal: grounded answers from a private Kazakhstan law knowledge base

A local, source-backed legal assistant gives the team verifiable answers and faster first drafts for legal work.

From constraint to outcome

What was blocked, what changed, and what the client gained.

01

Problem

The legal team needed current Kazakhstan law, not generic AI answers that might invent rules or cite outdated versions.

02

System

A local full-text knowledge base indexes official materials and lawyer-supplied texts, with an assistant that answers only from located provisions.

03

Outcome

Legal answers are verifiable at the source and document drafting starts from grounded material rather than a blank page.

The challenge

The team needed AI connected to current Kazakhstan legal materials, not a general model that could invent a rule or cite an outdated version. Legal analysis and drafting of claims and lawsuits were still manual.

What we built

  • Local legal knowledge base. The database runs on the company server, drawing on public materials from official Kazakhstan legal portals and text supplied by the lawyer. It includes 12 core codes and laws plus six Supreme Court regulatory rulings.
  • Full-text retrieval. Document fragments carry metadata and are searchable in full text. If a provision is not in the base, the assistant states that directly and points the user to the official source instead of inventing an answer.
  • Personal legal assistant. Answers use the located text of a provision, carry source links and retain working context across conversations. It can also prepare first drafts of claims and lawsuits.

The outcome

The legal team gets grounded, checkable answers from a private source base and a faster starting point for routine document work.
